DEAR FRIENDS, WELCOME TO THE 16th EDITION OF TIFF 2018!

Tirana International Film Festival is the most important cinematographic event that takes place in Albania. Not only because is the oldest and most experienced but also for the highest number of applications, selective films’ capability, the rich program, fascinating discoveries and premieres of the most important cinematic films’ market today in the world.

For all mentioned reasons, Tirana International Film Festival after applying was qualified as Festival from  the  Academy of Art and Sciences USA with the right that the winner of Best Short Live Action/Animation to rank in the list from which will come out the Oscar® winner for this categories.

This recognition ranks TIFF among 94 most prestigious festivals in the planet such as: Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno, Sundance, Tribeca, etc. giving this way a bigger chance to the movies produced in Albania, Kosovo, in the region and not only, to compete for this big Award.

This news drew the attention of directors and producers, which brought a significant increase in applications this year, to a record number of 4000 films.

The International Selection Committee has suggested 128 movies in competition for these categories:

Feature, EYE on TIFF (debut feature film competition), Short Live Action, Animation, Student and Video Art & Experimental, Documentary, Balkan and In Albanian competition.
